Have you ever wondered what recruiters and hiring managers see on the backend using the LinkedIn Recruiter platform?
Here's ONE of my most important tips if you're interested in being approached about new #opportunities…
Optimize your headline!
Your headline is one of THE most important parts of your LinkedIn profile, especially when we pull up your profile on the backend for job searches.
Good headlines:
➜ Include keywords you want hiring managers to find you under
Think about this - what keywords would likely pull up that are best aligned with my experience? What type of jobs do I want to hear about? Then, make sure those are in your headline.
Example:
Vice President of Property Management | Multifamily | Affordable Housing Leader | Developing & Leading Top CRE Teams Across the Country | Yardi Guru |
➜ Skip the jargon
I am not worried about unicorns, experts, Jedis, maximizers, energizers, passionate, etc.
Those are all lovely, but they don't help you be found by a recruiter or hiring manager. I recommend reserving that space for information pertinent to your expertise instead. You can always add more of your personality in your "About you" section.
➜ Tell me exactly what you do
What market and industry do you serve? What is your title and main responsibility? Do you have a niche or anything unique to your space that's valuable?
When you use this method to create your custom headline, I'm confident you will hear about more opportunities and come to the top of our list!
The job market is heating up—now is the time to get yourself set up to hear about as many opportunities as possible. You've got this!
