Starting a business can be overwhelming
here are my top 3 tips for becoming an entrepreneur and getting started.
1️⃣ Have an additional income source while you build your business
Without any additional income, you add a new level of pressure and stress that could impact how you run and operate your business. The added stress could cause decisions to be made out of a lack of desperation rather than strategic choices.
So, work a side job or have something else to balance you out until you can promote yourself to a full-time entrepreneur.
2️⃣ Have a mentor who has already "been there, done that."
Mentorship is powerful. Your mentor does not have to be in your industry (although that would be best), but having someone there to guide you and be a sounding board is critical to making better decisions.
3️⃣ Don't follow the crowd completely
Without having a clear differentiator or uniqueness to your business, many potential customers may base their decisions on how long you've been in business compared to your competitors instead of what makes you unique. Stand out and lean into what makes you, well, you!
You must efficiently and effectively differentiate yourself in the market to avoid getting swallowed up by the bigger, more established players.
Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart, but it is one of the most empowering decisions you can make for your career.
Come up with an idea and a plan, and go for it!
